The UK's leading fruit juice supplier says it's seen a huge rise in its third-party logistics business.
Gerber Juice Company says the volumes of its third-party product have doubled year-on-year and the firm now handles more than 10,000 pallets a week, picking and distributing around 260 third-party lines.
Having launched its 3PL business just two years ago, the company now carries between 3.5 million and 4m cases annually for other brands.
Alan Armstead, Gerber’s general manager for logistics said: “The next stage is to double the business in the next two years and look to add chilled storage capacity to meet the demand.
“More and more customers are looking for consolidation and partnering as a means to save money and reduce their carbon footprint and as our reputation in juice production and distribution speaks for itself, we are pleased to be able to harness this expertise for clients from other areas in the food and drink industry.”
