Tesco’s head of global online operations Adrian Letts is leaving the supermarket to become retail chief executive at Ovo Energy, the UK’s biggest independent energy supplier.
Letts, who has been managing director of online at Tesco since 2015, has been in charge of e-commerce across grocery, general merchandising and clothing.
Under Letts, the retailer became the first UK supermarket tolaunch nationwide same-day grocery deliveries, also introducing one-hour deliveries in London. Tesco is theworld’s largest online grocery retailer and e-commerce is its fastest-growing sales channel.
Prior to joining supermarket chain, Letts was an entrepreneur, co-founding digital and on-demand TV service Blinkbox in 2006, where he led as chief operations officer before it was sold to Tesco in 2011.
