Spanish salad supplier Bonnysa is investing €28 million in upgrading its production capabilities on the Spanish mainland and in the Canary Islands.
Speaking at last week’s Fruit Attraction show in Madrid, president Jorge Brotons Campillo told FPJ the investment would include an additional 14 hectares of upgrades in Murcia and a further 40ha in Alicante, with CO2 being recycled under the project.
The upgrade is expected to be completed within two years, and it follows a separate €10m investment in a new cut fruit factory in Alicante. Bonnysa has a turnover of some €190m and supplies tomatoes to Sainsbury’s and Tesco in the UK.
