Kraft Foods - the purveyor of salty snacks and the famous Dairylea brand - is expanding a school health scheme, which educates children about healthy eating, including how to grow veg.

According to brandrepublic.com, ‘Health4Schools’ has been running in 24 schools in Gloucestershire since 2004 as part of the company’s global community care programme.

Following the success of the scheme, it will be rolled out to 100 schools by 2007.

Each school is provided with the equivalent of £5,000 funding to teach the children about healthy eating. Activities such as “breakfast clubs” and growing vegetables are supported by unbranded literature and a website.
