Ex-Tesco director Neil Sachdev has landed the newly created role of commercial director at Sainsbury’s.
J Sainsbury PLC has announced the appointment of Sachdev, although he will not join the Holborn-based chain until March 2007.
His initial focus is expected to be on procurement and he will report to trading director Mike Coupe.
Sachdev spent 28 years at Tesco, across several sections of the business. He was, at different times, supply chain director and retail director and most recently as stores board director UK.
