Sainsbury’s fresh produce category topped the bill at the Quality Food & Drink Awards 2005 this week.

The chain scooped the top prize, the Gold Q for its Living Salad, for the third year running.

According to judges the salad was “totally new to the market and showed great innovation.”

In addition Sainsbury’s walked away with nine Silver Q Awards - the most awards won by any retailer.

Innocent also made the Silver list for the third time, winning the Soft Drinks category with its pineapple, blueberries and ginger Guest smoothie.

Meanwhile M&S picked up the confectionary award for its Belgian white chocolate-coated strawberries.
