SA Goldens take to the airwaves

The PR and promotional campaign for South African Golden Delicious in the UK will move onto the airwaves next week, with a promotion on Capital Gold.

The initiative kicked off with a pre-promotion this week - July 5-9 and the on-air promotion begins on Monday 10 and runs until Sunday 16.

The promotion will cover seven radio stations, broadcasting across London, Manchester, Birmingham, South Wales, Kent, Sussex and Hampshire

In keeping with the aims of the campaign, it is seen as a way of raising the profile of South African Golden Delicious and emphasising its points of difference with Goldens from other sources, as well as other varieties in the apple category.

Capital Gold, with one million listeners a day, has been selected to raise profile with a wide spectrum of consumers and a core audience of adults in the 35-54 year-old age range. The competition will also be promoted on the Capital Gold website.

The station will run a daily “Quickest to the Core” game, in which listeners will have to decide which apple facts are true and which are false, which is also a useful way of informing consumers about SA Goldens.

Daily winners will win a case of wine from Arniston Bay, and go into the Friday draw to win a seven-night holiday in Cape Town.
