Asda has launched a new, exclusive potato variety into its stores in time for Christmas - the festively named Rudolph.

Exclusive to Asda, Rudolph potatoes are large in size and have a vibrant red skin and a contrasting snow white flesh.

The retailer’s, Drew Kirk, said: “The festively named Rudolph potato hits the shelf in some Asda stores this Christmas. Ideal for roasting, this large bright red potato with very white flesh has real appeal at this time of the year. The product is very distinctive, with its novel packaging, which of course includes a picture of Santa’s lead Reindeer himself.”

Agrimarc is growing Rudolph for Asda on behalf of Fenmarc Produce. Mark Taylor, managing director of Agrimarc - Fenmarc’s agricultural business, said “Rudolph catches the eye with its striking colour. Having gained your interest with its appearance it then delivers with its taste and texture.”

The Rudolph potatoes are available in 2kg packs.
