The spotlight will be turned on private labels at the Private Label Manufacturers Association’s (PLMA) World of Private Label International Show, to be held on 22-23 May in Amsterdam’s RAI Exhibition Centre.

As retailers and wholesalers across Europe are expanding their private label programmes to attract loyal shoppers and boost profits, this show, the industry’s largest event, groups together thousands of buyers representing supermarkets, hypermarkets, discounters, department stores, drugstores, wholesalers, importers and exporters from all over the world.

A presentation of research commissioned by the PLMA and conducted by the Ipsos-MORI organisation into the growing influence of private labels in Europe will be held the day before the trade show opens, on May 21.

The study takes an in-depth look at Europe’s three biggest national retail markets - France, the UK and Germany -- and probes a range of subjects including consumers’ overall shopping and purchase habits, their selection of stores and formats and their attitudes toward both private labels and manufacturer brands.
