Resealable salad bag in at Asda

Asda is using a new re-sealable bag for some of its prepared salads supplied by Kanes Foods.

Developed by Paragon Flexibles, the bag features i-close, which is an easy peel and close mechanism.

Kanes Foods and Paragon have been working closely with Asda to bring the innovation, which maintains film clarity, feel and breathability while addressing the issue of waste and portion control, to market.

Shane Monkman, Asda’s head of packaging, said: “Our aim is to help our customers waste less food… The i-close mechanism will enable them to reseal easily and store for further use.

"It is also lighter and less expensive to introduce than other seals often used on fresh products.”
