Redbridge moves in Wigan

The Wigan branch of Redbridge Produce & Flowers, part of Redbridge Holdings, the UK’s leading supplier of fresh produce to the retail, wholesale and foodservice sectors, has moved to a brand new 1400m² warehouse next door to its existing depot in Wigan.

Incorporating office space, the new warehouse boasts a large loading area with parking and offers improved facilities for current business, as well as space for future expansion. The move is as a result of increased customer numbers requiring direct delivery of orders, with more than two thirds now delivered business.

The additional space will also accommodate new contracts, including the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme deliveries, now serving more than 1,450 schools and the co-operative Food Initiatives, improving access to fresh produce in areas with poor availability and income.

Graeme Hinchley, managing director of Redbridge Produce & Flowers, commented: “The move has gone very smoothly with no disruption of service to our customers. We moved into the new depot while still working from the old premises, enabling us to continue trading throughout without closing. Although the new depot is only a short distance from our previous location, it is much better suited to our current needs and gives us plenty of space for growth.”
