This year's Pershore Plum Festival will feature the largest selection of plum varieties in its five-year history.
The month-long festival, which runs from 29 July to 29 August, owes a lot to the bad weather, according to organisers.
"Usually by the end of August, most varieties of plums have been and gone. This year, the persistent rain has slowed the ripening process down by several weeks, which is perfect timing for us," said organiser Angela Tidmarsh.
Visitors to the festival will be able to sample varieties including Victoria Plums, Pershore Purple Plums, Pershore Yellow Egg Plums and Czar Plums.
Tidmarsh concluded: "Pershore feels like it’s won its own Olympic gold as for the first time ever, the festival will feature all the different types of plums Pershore proudly produces."
