A new piece of software directed at fresh produce suppliers claims it can help to improve the relationship between suppliers and retailers.
ProduceView, which has been developed by Market Intelligence Services (MIS), receives a constant stream of supermarket data on the sales performance of fruit and vegetable lines and then feeds it back to users. Once data has been collected users can produce instant, presentation-ready graphics and data.
MIS commercial manager Tim Mudge says the software can help fresh produce businesses make better decisions on promotions due to its ability to compare prices.
He explained: “ProduceView aims to help clients with the challenge of category marketing by providing an online tool that displays data across their product range and allows them to drill down and analyse it. Until now, this has been the type of service that has only been within the reach of a few, very large, grocery multinationals. Now we have developed a cost-effective product which can give our customers a definite advantage over their competitors.”
