The Port of Felixstowe has denied reports by the BBC that its service has been badly affected by today's snowy weather.
BBC News claimed this morning: 'The port of Felixstowe is struggling in the bad weather. Export containers are being allowed through but capacity for imports is reduced. The port was closed overnight due to heavy snow and a large back log is now in place.'
However, Paul Davey, the port's head of corporate affairs, has said that the snow has only resulted in a few delays and that the BBC update is exaggerated.
He said: 'Obviously we can't predict the weather, but so far we have not been affected too badly and we have the right plans and equipment in place to combat the snow if it gets any worse.'
