Well Pict has been crowned Supplier of the Year for the second consecutive year at the Pauleys Supplier Awards.

The soft-fruit supplier was singled out for its continuous outstanding support, loyalty, first-class service and dedication to continually improving its standards.

More than 40 of foodservice specialist Pauleys’ national suppliers attended the ceremony to find out if they had scooped an award. The honours are intended to reward the fruit and vegetable supply chain members who have excelled themselves over the last year.

Andy Izzard, account manager at Well Pict, admitted it has been “a tough year for everyone” and that more of the same was expected in 2009. He said: “Our team works closely with Pauleys to ensure that we are all working towards the goal of fulfilling the needs and expectations of the end customer.”

The Outstanding Service Award went to Pauleys’ tomato and pepper supplier, Valstar.

Eurodix won the Innovation of the Year Award for its punnet packaging, which replaced the old bag format for top fruit and reduced complaints because of its superior protection.
