The Organic box scheme phenomenon made waves in Cumbria this week, with the expansion of a Yorkshire based-company.

Farmaround is branching out on doorstep deliveries from its base in Richmond, north Yorkshire, 12 years after starting up.

Isobel Davies, founder of Farmaround said the scheme was intended to address people’s concerns about intensive farming practices and their impact on health and the environment.

“We aim to extend the reach of our organic produce and grocery deliveries across Cumbria to meet consumer need for these products and to support them as a company that has a proven ethical conscience,” she added.

The company delivers produce in recyclable paper bags that are collected from customers for re-use and cardboard is recycled in its own crusher.
