Tesco has taken the challenge of offering its consumers the freshest produce possible one step further, with the introduction of a new organic living salad.

Grown in Yorkshire, the salad is a blend of baby leaf varieties, including tatsoi, pak choi, spinach, wild rocket, red chard and coriander.

The leaves are designed to offer the consumer fresh salad with limited preparation - the leaves simply need to be snipped off when required.

“The tender leaves are undamaged by harvesting and handling methods. And because they are still growing, the organic leaves are loaded with vitamins and minerals, particularly vitamin C,” said Tesco’s Suzanne Fearon.

“Although new leaves will not come through to replace those cut, the salad will last at least seven days, or up to two weeks if watered to keep leaves fresh - making them a practical solution for single people, those working away during the week and anyone keen to guarantee they have a fresh salad to hand,” she said.
