The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has announced that it will tackle the latest enforcements and O-licensing developments at its 2007 transport manager seminars.

All UK lorry operators must have an operator licence, better known as an O-licence. Failure to conform to the necessary roadworthiness, driver management and general operating regulations can restrict, or even jeopardise, the continuity of the licence and thus the ability to continue to run vehicles.

The FTA provides a range of record keeping, tachograph and vehicle inspection schemes designed to support lorry operators in maintaining the required standards, which are constantly changing.

This year’s autumn season of FTA transport manager seminars, running from September until December throughout the country, will take a close look at operator compliance risk score (OCRS) and enforcement targeting; traffic commissioner practice directions, what they are and how they work; and graduated fixed penalties, amongst other related issues.
