A group of nursery producers have joined forces to offer a new delivery solution to customers.
The companies, Millview Nurseries, Country Herbs & Plants, and Isis Nursery Stock, all based in South Lincolnshire, have created a three-way collective transport system, called SELGro, to help their customers order a selection of plants from each nursery therefore, making up a variable and viable trolley load. The retailer is invoiced by each individual company in the same way as usual.
The system works by offering a wide range of plants from all three nurseries on a single regular nationwide delivery.
A spokesman said: “We believe by joining together and combining our sales and transport we can serve our customers even better with a wider range and mix of product, combined transport, regular deliveries, helping to keep the product fresh on the shelf and cutting wastage with the added benefit of peace of mind by buying quality product direct from the grower.”
