As Sir Ben Gill prepares to step down from the post of NFU president, the nominations for his replacement have been announced

THE NFU has received five nominations for the post of NFU president, following current president Sir Ben Gill’s decision to step down, after six years in the job.

The nominations for president are: current deputy president Tim Bennett from Carmarthen, Richard Haddock from Devon, Derek Mead from Somerset, current vice president Michael Paske from Lincolnshire and Michael Seals from Derbyshire.

The nominations have also been announced for the positions of deputy president and vice president. A paper ballot will be held to elect the officeholders after the NFU annual conference and AGM held in Birmingham on February 17. Each elected officeholder will serve a two-year term.
