Food Northwest has launched a new package of support services for food and drink companies across the North West of England.

The organisation has developed a new affordable membership scheme, providing tangible commercial benefits, including access to contacts, information and funding for businesses in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.

The scheme will see Food Northwest become the first English region to offer members of the food industry, with a turnover of less than £10 million, access to food and grocery expert IGD’s news, analysis and research.

This initiative is part of a five-year Northwest Food and Drink strategy, which has six priorities: focusing on the key themes of market development; productivity and skills; healthy eating, environmental sustainability; sustainable farming and food; and the image of the industry.

Food Northwest chief executive Pat Foreman said: “We are telling the rest of the industry about the companies and products that make the North West their home. We have designed our new package of services to help them grow their businesses and become even more successful.”
