Buckinghamshire company Baltimore Innovations says its new vegetable slicing system is an 'industry first.'
The MCT-25 Onion Slicer, which will make its debut at this year's Fruit Logistica show in Berlin, has been designed to produce precision cut tomato and onion slices to a standard thickness.
The machine is fully integrated with a Pick & Place conveyor, and removes and collects unwanted end pieces while placing the premium slices neatly in the tray.
“The MCT 25 was upgraded to slice onions in response to requests from our customers, who love the reduction in labour costs and increase in yield that they get from our machines when slicing tomatoes,” said Matthew Valentine, MD at Baltimore Innovations.
The MCT 25 Automated Slicer slices six tomatoes or onions per cycle, yielding seven premium slices per tomato or onion – which is 42 slices per cycle.
