Defra has appointed three new people to the Covent Garden Market Authority, the public corporation that manages New Covent Garden Market.
Brenda Dean, John Wilson and Michael Paske (pictured) will all serve with the authority for three years at an annual salary of £8,703.
Paske is a speciality vegetable grower with farms in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Suffolk, and was vice-president of the National Farmers’ Union from 1999 to 2004.
Dean is a member of the House of Lords and currently is a non-executive director with George Wimpey. Wilson took early retirement from the Ministry of Defence, where he was chief executive of the Defence Housing Executive.
