Leading bagged salad supplier Florette UK has appointed a new managing director.
Mark Newton, former commercial director, will now head up the Lichfield-based operation following the death of former md Gerald Lacey after a short illness.
The company said that, as commercial director, Newton had presided over a series of listing successes and marketing innovations which had helped turn the company into the UK’s top selling salad brand.
Newton was also the driving force behind the company’s recent launch of a £3 million prime time television advertising campaign, designed to strengthen the Florette brand identity.
The company more than doubled its factory production area this summer and has announced growth of around 26 per cent year on year.
Newton said: “I am very proud and honoured to be taking the helm at Florette. Both the company and the brand are synonymous with quality and innovation, a policy which I’m delighted to continue.”
