Prepared salad specialist Soléco has appointed a new UK managing director.
The Lichfield firm hopes to drive success for its two fresh produce businesses Florette and Salads to Go further with the appointment of Neil Sanderson.
Sanderson takes on the role from predecessor Mark Newton, who is moving to a new post as chief executive officer at French parent company Groupe Florette.
No stranger to the position of managing director, Sanderson has extensive experience at the helm of food businesses such as Findus UK, Tryton Foods (Aunt Bessies) and Danone.
He said: “Despite consumer spending being as tight as it has been for decades, the Florette brand has not only thrived and prospered, it has driven the entire prepared salad category by drawing on strong brand equity, investment, insight and innovation.
“The acquisition of Salads to Go in 2009 only added to the growth potential of Soléco - the business is in a great place and I’m looking forward to developing it even further and continuing to drive this success.”
Meanwhile, as chief executive officer for Groupe Florette, Newton will have the task of growing the Florette business in the brand’s major marketplaces of France, the UK and Spain as well as developing new and emerging markets across Europe in Switzerland, Italy and Germany.
