SAI Global/EFSIS, the provider of food assurance solutions to the food industry, has become one of only two certification bodies to be accredited to undertake full and complete certification to the BRC Global Standard - Storage and Distribution.
SAI Global/EFSIS has been at the forefront of the development of the Standard and has had its own accredited Storage & Distribution Standard for a number of years, which has become well established within the industry.
"The EFSIS Storage and Distribution standard has been a huge success," said SAI Global/EFSIS Food Director Carole Payne. "That means we have a great deal of expertise in storage and distribution. It also means we can make a smooth transition to the new standard now that we have achieved full accreditation.
“We already have expert auditors in place and a wealth of experience in the sector, which means that SAI Global/EFSIS is the best choice for any company wanting to work to the new standard, whether they have been audited against the EFSIS standard already or they have decided to take up the new BRC standard from scratch."
The BRC Global Standard for Storage - Distribution is risk based, with a strong emphasis on hazard and risk analysis to identify and manage potential product safety risks, coupled with documented quality management systems. The standard has a wide scope and does not just include food products, but also packaging materials and consumer products.
SAI Global/EFSIS will be running training days over the next few months, covering the key requirements to help companies to prepare. Contact the company’s training team to find out more.
