Some of the UK’s biggest showbiz stars turned out to celebrate Marks and Spencer’s 125th anniversary party last week.

Chief executive Sir Stuart Rose enlisted singer Will Young and Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity to perform in a show compered by TV presenter Graham Norton to a crowd of 1,200.

Former chairmen Lord Burns and Luc Vandevelde joined designer George Davies , the man behind the Per Una brand, on the high-profile guest list. Stefan Barden of Northern Foods and Geoff Eaton of salad and sandwich provider Uniq were among the suppliers invited to the bash.

Jennifer Bradley, the chain's longest-serving employee, having worked in the Bury St Edmonds store for more than 48 years, was recognised for her long service at the event.
