Mack Multiples have announced the signing of a new 10-year grape deal with the Volcani research institution in Israel.
The agreement is a collaboration between Volcani and growers from Israel, South Africa, Chile and the US.
The breeders known for the releases of Prime, Starlight, Mystery and Spring Blush have a number of new varieties which look set to form the basis and target standard for the next generation of table grapes in the trial and development stage.
Mack Multiples have signed exclusive European rights deal and will commence testing in various European destinations over the coming year with a number of partners across the continent.
The project will include speciality varieties not seen before, expected to deliver new visual and flavour sensations, alongside more mainstream varieties across white, red and black seedless grapes.
Dan Crooks, commercial director for grapes at Mack Multiples, said: “Table grape breeding remains key to the development of the category and the future commercial successes of growers worldwide.
“We aim to link the market desires with the growing realities and to fast-track success through our experienced global grower network. We are very excited to work with the new project team and believe we can help make a real difference in how the business looks in the coming years.”
