Four hundred companies are anticipated to attend the fair including 40 first-time exhibitors.

Exhibition director Lisa Younger said: "This is the fifth fair since the show launched in 2000 and it is still gaining momentum. It is the only show dedicated to speciality and fine foods, specifically for a trade audience. Visitor numbers were up nine per cent last year and we are confident that with the increase in exhibitors and a wider selection of food and drink on display, 2004 will be another record breaking year."

Exhibitors from around the Uk will promote the diversity of regional food and international produce will also be on display from countries such as France, Australia, Italy, Spain and South America. "The Speciality & Fine Food Fair is the ideal opportunity for food and rink retailers based around the UK to see all the latest developments in the speciality food arena," said Younger.

To coincide with the fair, the Great Taste Awards run by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers, will showcase the award winners at the fair, who will be announced on September 4.
