Defra has announced the makeup of the new levy boards that will represent UK horticulture in the revamped structure.

The 14 names selected to represent the horticulture sector are: John Adlam, Ian Ashton, Peter Cornish, Harriet Duncalfe, Nicholas Dunn, Philip Effingham, Gordon Flint, David Hand, Richard Hirst, Tracy Hull, Mark Komatsu, Carol Paris, Will Sibley and independent member Paul Singleton.

Defra is currently recruiting for a new permanent chairman after John Hall resigned earlier this year. Andrew Colquhoun is currently filling the post on an interim basis.

Representing the UK potato sector under chairman Janet Bainbridge are: Tony Bambridge, Colin Bradley, Jim Cruickshank, Rob Doig, Graham Nichols, Tim Papworth, David Rankin, Fraser Scott, Alex Stephens, Duncan Worth, Nick Vermont, William Tapp, and independents Fiona Fell and Dennis Heywood.

The appointments will be for up to three years, with board members paid £250 per day, working around one to two days per month.
