Peter Lansdale is one of Lancashire’s most passionate tomato growers. To celebrate British Tomato Week, the former TGA chairman along with Greenery UK held a “Meet the Grower” day at the Somerfield store in Standish, Lancashire.
Lansdale was joined on the day by Greenery celebrity chef Noel Goulding, who has cooked for Her Majesty the Queen and a host of celebrities including Sean Connery.
The day provided an opportunity for customers to talk to Lansdale and ask questions about tomatoes while sampling some tomato recipes cooked by chef Noel.
Additionally, the Greenery UK held a free raffle and donated a prize for one lucky Somerfield shopper to win a ‘Night to Remember’. The Greenery UK will send Chef Noel and a butler to the home of the raffle winner and cook a gourmet meal for four people using Somerfield ingredients.
