A kiwifruit a day may well help keep the doctor away, Norwegian scientists have claimed.
Research from the University of Oslo showed the fruit could reduce the risk of heart disease by cutting dangerous artery blocking fats.
Eating two to three kiwifruit a day for 28 days was also found to reduce the risk of blood clots.
Professor Asim Duttaroy, lead researcher, said: “There is something in kiwifruit which creates an anti-platelet effect. Consuming it is an effective way of inhibiting blood clotting and can improve cardiovascular risk profiles in healthy adults.”
