Jaffa citrus and Foods from Spain were promoting fresh fruit and vegetables at the first ever Children's Food Festival at Abingdon airfield on July 14-15.

It was the first ever food festival aimed directly at children in the country and attracted around 12,000 visitors on each day.

Jaffa sampled oranges and easy peelers to hungry viewers at the Children's Cookery Theatre, where Raymond Blanc, Annabel Karmel, Sophie Grigson, Antonio Carluccio and Jamie Oliver's dinner lady Nora Sands were among the chefs demonstrating.

Foods from Spain, meanwhile, exhibited some of the best entries in its National Primary Schools Competition. A selection of collages produced by schools to represent fresh fruit and vegetables from Spain provided the colourful backdrop to the fruit and vegetable tent at the festival.
