It is with great sadness that we report the death of Kees Minnaar on March 7, at the age of 61, after a two year battle with cancer. Kees will be remembered for guiding the family business C Minnaar Ltd into the 21st century.

The business was established in 1904 by his grandfather, trading produce from Holland. Kees joined the business in 1965 and along with his brother Adrian who managed the Dutch operation, decided to focus efforts on supplying the multiple retail sector from worldwide sources. The company operated a cool chain distribution depot in Earith, Cambridgeshire.

Kees' vision led to the company becoming one of the most important and respected produce suppliers in the UK. In 2002 the company became part of the Greenery.

He leaves his wife Doris, three sons, Ko, Daniel and Ben, two daughters Michelle and Frances, and six grandchildren.

The funeral will take place on March 14 at 2.30pm at St Andrew the Great, Cambridge.
