Sainsbury's brand director Judith Batchelar OBE

Sainsbury’s brand director Judith Batchelar has been awarded an OBE in the 2015 Queen’s birthday honours list for “services to farming and the food industry”.

Batchelar, who has been in the role since 2004, also sits on several industry boards, including her position as co-chair of the Agri-Tech Leadership Council, the advisory body to the government on implementing the Agri-Tech Strategy.

Former director general of the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), Melanie Leech, gained an OBE for services to the food and drink industry. Leech has recently become director of the British Property Federation.

Among the famous faces recognised in the list is actor Kevin Spacey, who gained an honorary knighthood for services to theatre, arts education and international culture, actor Eddie Redmayne, who received an OBE for services to drama, singer Van Morrison, who will be knighted for services to the music industry and tourism in Northern Ireland, and rugby player Jonny Wilkinson who gained a CBE for services to rugby union.
