Spearhead International has appointed Julius Joel as managing director of its wholly-owned UK subsidiary, Greens of Soham Ltd. He will take up the position on June 18.
Joel joins Greens, one of the UK’s leading potato and vegetable businesses, from its neighbour, G’s Marketing Ltd, where he has held several positions over the past twelve years, latterly as supply chain director.
The appointment signals Spearhead’s commitment to the continued growth and development of Greens within the Group, said a statement.
Spearhead had total sales of £60 million in 2006. Greens contributed £19m towards this, together with £26m sales from Poland, and £15m from the Czech Republic.
Greens’ trading subsidiaries include: Greenseed International Ltd, Proseed International Ltd, Spearhead Marketing Ltd, Greens Red Beet Group, DC Produce Ltd, Engine Farm Ltd and The English Set Company.
