Approximately 500 hectares of horticulture land in Baramulla district, India, will soon be brought under modern irrigation technology, the irrigation minister, Mohammad Dilawar Mir, has announced.

The new sprinkler irrigation facility will help increase fruit production manifold in Rafiabad, Saidapora, Logriwalpora, Nowgam, Tragpora, Ferozpora, Chekjojri and Achabal areas of the district. The chief engineer irrigation and flood control will submit a comprehensive project report within a fortnight after conducting a detailed survey of the areas.

A similar high-lift irrigation scheme in Ladura has been completed and would be dedicated to the people by the month end, said Dilawar Mir, adding the scheme would provide irrigation facility to about 7000 acres of agriculture land.
