The Punjab State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd (MarkFed) is to set up an integrated packing house for fruit and vegetables in the Punjab region of India.
The facility, to be used by exporters and local farmers will cost just over 50m rupees (around £600 000), with almost 30 million rupees (£250 000) provided by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
The plant would provide a complete solution for local producers, providing everything from sorting to cold storage for up to 2500 tonnes of fruit and vegetables.
