Ilapak on show at PPMA

Packaging specialist Ilapak is set to demonstrate its latest developments at the Process and Packaging Machinery Association trade show this year, including a new modular packaging machine concept for maximising Ilapak users’ return on investment.

Ilapk will also be showing the innovative Amcor PushPop pack on a continuous film motion machine, as well as its open-framed bagging machines at the show on September 29 to October 1.

The Carrera 4000, the first of Ilapak’s new range of horizontal packaging machines designed to lower operating costs per pack to a new level. Ilapak hopes its customers can now achieve optimum levels of packing flexibility, machine specification and performance throughout the life of the machine.

The modular concept allows customers to define their machine’s specification and performance at the time of purchase and then to revise their specification throughout the life of the machine, at minimum cost.

Key features of the company’s latest software platform incorporated in the Carrera 4000 include a touch-screen for minimising operator error, an electronic control platform with internet connection for remote servicing and monitoring of customer machines, as well as software to predict component failures in advance and the ability to minimise energy and material consumption.

The company will also be displaying its Vegatronic 4000 vertical, form, fill and seal machine capable of producing Amcor’s PushPop stand-up pack and designed to replace bag-in-box, lined cartons, paper-based thick wall laminates, standard side fold bags and pillow packs.
