The annual Food Industry Awards are officially open for entry as organisers, food and grocery expert, IGD celebrates its centenary.

Now in their 19th year the awards provide an opportunity for companies and individuals to gain recognition for excellence across a variety of categories, ranging from sustainability and supply chain excellence, to consumer understanding and social innovation.

Joanne Denney-Finch, chief executive of the IGD, said: “During such turbulent times, it is even more important to commend those providing leadership - companies and individuals demonstrating our industry’s endless capacity to improve, innovate and renew.

“This is exactly what the Food Industry Awards is all about, an occasion to celebrate those that have taken the initiative to seize opportunities that always arise at times like this.”

The winners will be announced on October 13, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. This year’s awards ceremony will be attended by more than 550 delegates from the industry, including chairmen and chief executives from leading food retailers and suppliers.

Closing date for entries is June 30 and shortlisted entries will be announced on August 3.
