The prestigious Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF) Diamond Awards 2010 are open to entries from companies vying for the gongs.

This will be the third annual Diamond Awards hosted by the regional food group, which celebrates the best of regional food and drink from Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Birmingham and the Black Country.

Entry forms are out now for all HEFF members to submit produce into the categories across the range of food and drink, including produce. In addition, there will once again be the four Special Diamond Awards named Grow, Innovate, Taste and Excel. With the exception of Taste, these awards will recognise a business achievement rather than a product. The closing date for entries is January 29.

A select group of 40 industry representatives, including Andreas Antona, founder of the Michelin-starred Simpsons restaurant in Birmingham, and representatives of Budgens, Asda and Tesco, have accepted the challenge to blind taste and evaluate a range of regional produce in late February.

For businesses wanting to be associated with the Diamond Awards, there are a number of sponsorship opportunities available. In return, businesses will be rewarded with a package of marketing benefits.

The HEFF Diamond Awards Ceremony will take place on May 15 at a venue to be confirmed.
