The English Food and Farming Partnership (EFFP) is to focus on food security at its annual conference next month.

Under the heading, Stepping Up to the Plate, eminent speakers including Lord Digby Jones, Spar UK managing director Jerry Marwood and G’s chairman Richard Hirst will be among those debating the subject.

The event will take place on 2 November at the Plaisterers Hall in central London and will take place against a backdrop of increasingly short worldwide food supplies.

Brian Mullens, chief financial officer at McDonald’s, farming minister Jim Paice and Rosie Boycott, chair of the London Food Board, who wil give an insight into the legacy prospect’s for the food industry after the London Olympic Games in 2012.
