Greyfriars gets EFSIS accreditation

Refresh-award winning vegetable producer Greyfriars UK Ltd has gained EFSIS accreditation for its state-of-the-art packhouse operations.

Greyfriars’ md C John Smith said the EFSIS standard is an assurance for its customers, which include major multiple Morrisons, of the company’s commitment to food safety and preparing produce of the highest quality.

“This is a voluntary standard which we wholeheartedly embraced as a key part of our corporate ethos which has always been attaining and maintaining the highest standards of due diligence possible,” he claimed.

“The achievement of EFSIS accreditation demonstrates our dedication to providing premium quality products and represents another important step in assuring our customers of the integrity of our products.”

The EFSIS Accredited Inspection incorporates BRC Global Standards for food and accreditation, analysing all aspects of the company from quality management, social accountability and environmental polices to traceability, waste disposal, hygiene and transport.

EFSIS is one of the largest independent inspection and certification bodies, providing major retailers, manufacturers, farmers and caterers, with inspection and certification of their operations against industry quality assurance schemes to ensure maintenance of the highest standards.
