Fruit importer and supermarket supplier Greencell has appointed Andrew Cooksey as managing director.

Cooksey started his career in fresh produce in 1994 at VHB, before working in the sandwich and dairy sectors.

He therefore brings a wealth of experience in the UK food market to Greencell, having worked with and supplied to most UK retailers. Cooksey told freshinfo: “I have experience of all different levels of the trade, wholesale, retail and foodservice.”

He is working between Greencell’s Dartford and Spalding sites.

Cooksey replaces Henri Lambriex, who is now be able to focus entirely on his dual roles on the executive committee of Hans Merensky in South Africa and managing director of Westfalia Cooperatief Europe.
