Canterbury-based A Gomez has announced the launch of the latest product to join its Gomez Reserv™ range.
The company said that its ‘Crisp and Juicy’ premium white grapes have been an instant success and surpassed all expectations, with first arrivals from South Africa ‘flying off the shelf’.
Managing Director, Jim Parmenter, said: “Demand for Gomez Reserv™ grape is high, despite a generally good availability of standard grape in the sector, which again demonstrates the enthusiasm there is from our non-multiple customers for a high quality, easy to identify premium brand.”
South African product will be joined in the UK market by South American grapes in February, and the Gomez Reserv™ offer will run into summer with supplies from Spain and other European sources.
Parmenter added that Gomez Reserv™ continues to have a “massive impact” on the way in which the non-multiple sector looks at premium produce, and demand is growing. One customer commented: “Gomez Reserv™ is innovative and exciting, a complete change for the non-multiple sector”.
The next product to launch will be “Sweet and Aromatic” strawberries. They will be packed in a square flat punnet, labeled with the new Gomez Reserv™ label design and packed in the distinctive blue Gomez Reserv™ box.
“Again, from pre-availability enquiries, we know that this line will follow the success of the others and will be an instant success,” said Parmenter.
Gomez Reserv™ strawberries will launch in the next month. The brand is not available in supermarkets.
