Fyffes has announced the retirement of its group director Neil McCann after 55 years in the business.
Coen Bos, managing director of Fyffes tropical produce division and Rory Byrne, managing director of the company’s general produce division have been appointed to the board.
Under McCann’s guidance, Fyffes has become one of the world’s major fresh produce companies.
“Neil has been an extraordinary leader and an inspiration to everyone,” a statement issued by the board of directors read. “He can be very proud of the highly respected group he has created.”
Earlier this week Fyffes announced plans to pay a special dividend of €20 million to shareholders next March following an exceptional group performance in 2005.
