Fruitfuljobs.com has been relaunched as a portal for employers and job-seekers in the fresh produce business.

Originally created in 2001 to fulfil soft-fruit group AMS’s harvest employment requirements, it now offers a wealth of information to all job-seekers in the food chain attracting all levels from unskilled labourers to chief executives.

Employers can advertise as many positions and as often as they like free of charge. Advertisements stay on-line until the position is filled. Fruitful does not charge on a percentage basis either, but a one-off fee ranging from £35 for a seasonal picker to £450 for a permanent employee, whatever the level.

The service is free to job-seekers who, after being introduced, have direct contact with the employer. “Fruitful does not interfere with any decision-making on either side,” said the firm’s Zoë Leighton. “The new-look website offers a wealth of information for the candidate, from working visa requirements and local transport information for casual farm hands, to interview techniques and university courses for career-focused job-seekers. We have an on-going, direct involvement with the sectors we recruit fro and an understanding of the urgency jobseekers and employers in the industry often face.”

The website averages 400,000 hits a month and has strategic alliances with industry organisations, higher education establishments and back-packer outlets.
