Fresh Direct’s food manufacturing arm is supplying Brakes with 18 new dishes to help hospitality
Fresh Kitchen, the food manufacturing arm of fresh produce foodservice wholesaler Fresh Direct, has launched a new range of condiments and sauces into sister company and catering supplier Brakes.
Bicester-based Fresh Kitchen said it developed the 18 new products to help alleviate pressure on professional kitchens within the UK hospitality sector, many of which continue to face challenges around recruiting and retaining skilled chefs.
All products in the new range are hand-prepared using the same process as a professional kitchen – just on a larger scale, Fresh Direct said.
The list of products being launched includes Great Taste award-winning Fresh Kitchen products Pickled Watermelon, an unusual and delicate pickle; Comeback Sauce, a spicy dipping sauce inspired by Mississippi; and Golden Beetroot Piccalilli, an award-winning blend of golden beetroot, sultanas and a medley of diced vegetables.
Other eye-catching products in the 18-strong Fresh Kitchen range include Pickled Chilli Pineapple; Pickled Pear; Makhani Curry Sauce and Hot Honey Sauce.
Paul Nieduszynski, CEO of Sysco GB, said: “We felt there was a gap in the market for a range of high-quality sauces and pickles that chefs can serve without needing to spend time creating them. We follow the same process as any chef would, using top quality products from Fresh Direct, creating some wonderfully individual products and flavours.
“The expertise and experience that our operatives have, creating these products day in and day out, means that chefs are guaranteed to receive a great product every time.”
Fresh Kitchen, Fresh Direct and Brakes are all part of the Sysco GB group of companies.
