Transport managers can learn how to reduce their footprint

The Freight Best Practice programme is holding a roadshow of free in-house presentations around the country, to show operators how to become more efficient, save fuel and ultimately save money.

The Department for Transport’s (DfT) Freight Best Practice team will be visiting operators across England, giving bespoke presentations designed for transport managers and relevant staff who can influence operational efficiency.

Each session will start with a 30-minute presentation of the key messages of the progamme and the importance of reducing carbon emissions.

In a recent independent assessment of the programme, it was shown that operators who use it save on average £250,000 a year. The operator then has the chance to mould the presentation to suit their own individual operational requirements, by choosing three presentations that will be most beneficial. The choices are: change management in relation to saving fuel; performance management and benchmarking; vehicles - specifying the correct vehicle; systems - IT and telematics; and transport operators’ pack (TOP).

To register for a presentation to be given at your operation, either email events@freightbestpractice.org.uk or call Amanda Wilson on 0161 927 8346.
