Frank Corrigan

Industry veteran Frank Corrigan has announced his retirement after nearly 50 years in the trade.

Irishman Corrigan, 64, has worked at Nationwide Produce since 2006. He began his career in the industry back in 1966 at family wholesale business Sunkist Fruit in Cork, where he spent 20 years before moving to England to Wallace Farms.

In 1990 Corrigan moved onto AG Pearce, before spells at Knights of Norfolk and Moorhouse & Mohan.

Corrigan has undergone a tough year in which he had to have a leg amputated as a result of diabetes and later suffered a heart attack. He is understood to have recovered and is walking well on his prosthetic leg.

Tim O’Malley, managing director at Nationwide Produce, said: “Frank is one of the real characters in the industry. I’m sure everyone who knows him will wish him well for his retirement and we at Nationwide will miss him and his Irish banter around the office.”
